Years ago when my husband worked for the USFS he was in charge of maintaining all current and building all new trails on the Wasatch front. Part of that job was upgrading the signs when old ones were getting to old. When that would happen there were times he was able to keep some of the old ones depending on the size and the sign. He was also a firefighter for the USFS for many seasons which is how he started with them. He actually got to play smokey the bear one year when my son was little. That was pretty cool. My son thought it was their secret that his dad was a super hero.
